Epic Games has dropped a new update for Fortnite on PS4, but still did not create a full patch note for the update--although they did leave a note for it on the official Battle Royale subreddit, which they noted is a fix for the hitching that was previously affecting the game.
New Patch for Hitching Fix
Epic Games wrote, "We have released a new patch (v11.10.2) on PlayStation 4 today to resolve reported issues of hitching. A download is required."
According to Newsweek, hitching and stuttering had been a problem for Fortnite gamers ever since the arrival of Fortnitemares that began at the end of October, and while a fix is long due and has impacted their gameplay, the update did seem to resolve the problem caused by update 11.10.1.
Apparently, the hitching got much worse during this week when Epic Games dropped the new Harpoon Gun without saying anything.
The update is small in size and only requires a few megabytes, but it seems to do the job as many players reported that after they downloaded the latest patch, there is a smoother experience.

Epic Games is somewhat known for rolling out quick fixes for Fortnite issues when necessary, especially around Season 10 when the developers continued to launch small updates that can fix the stability of the game as well as weapon balance, and this new update seems to keep up with that trend.
However, it seems like the fix is mainly for PlayStation 4 users only, as those who are playing Fortnite via PC and Xbox One are still experiencing the hitches.
New Challenges Arrive
Meanwhile, Forbes reported that new challenges have been added to the game and have also listed them down.
Most are pretty self-explanatory and can be done without guides, but challenges like visiting EGO outposts, or searching for the hidden letter "N" are more challenging than the rest, especially since the EGO outposts pop out almost anywhere on the map.
The Merry Mint Craze
Besides the new challenges, Fortnite gamers are still going crazy about the Merry Mint Pickaxe, a limited edition, special promotional item for the game to get ahead of the Christmas season, and due to its rarity, many will do anything to get it--even deal with shady Minty Codes that are fake.
That said, the best way to get it is to go to GameStop, purchase Fortnite merchandise of any sort, and then get a legitimate code that you can use to get the Merry Mint Pickaxe without resorting to dangerous methods.
