Sony is making PlayStation Now even more worthwhile.
Not only is it slashing costs, but it's also adding a few big-name titles to the service.
PlayStation Now Gets Some Big Changes
First off, PS Now subscriptions are getting price cuts across the board starting on Oct. 1. In the United States, it's going to be $9.99 per month, $24.99 per quarter, or $59.99 per year. Those numbers are down from $19.99, $44.99, and $99.99 and result in savings of $10, $20, and $40, respectively. For existing subscribers, they can expect to see the reduced cost on their next billing cycle.
As noted, the service is getting a couple of new noteworthy games as well. The list includes God of War, Grand Theft Auto V, Infamous Second Son, and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. These will be available beginning on Oct. 1 until Jan. 2, 2020.
Out Of The Exclusive Zone
On an interesting note, three of these games are no longer PlayStation exclusives — technically speaking, that is. PS Now lets players stream games not only on the PlayStation 4 but also on PC, and that means even those who don't have the console can play God of War, Infamous Second Son, and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End on their computer.
According to Sony, users need a PC running on Windows 7 or later with at least an Intel Core i3 2.0 GHz, 300 MB of available storage, 2 GB of RAM, and a 5 Mbps connection. The company also recommends using a DualShock 4 controller connected via USB to play.
Just to recap, PS Now gives subscribers access to more than 800 PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and PS4 games, 300 of which are PS4 titles. It also allows game downloads on the PS4, but not on the PC. It even used to support certain smart TVs, but not anymore.
For those outside the United States, Sony also posted the new pricing plans for other regions in its press release.
