Certain Beats headphones owners will soon be able to use iOS 13.1's Audio Sharing, just like AirPods users.
For the uninitiated, the feature lets two pairs of headphones connect to one iPhone, iPod, or iPad. It allows two users to listen to the same music or watch the same TV show, movie, or other videos at the same time.
Which Beats Headphones Will Get Audio Sharing?
Any audio device with Apple's H1 or W1 chip under the hood will get Audio Sharing. That means the BeatsX, Powerbeats3 Wireless, Powerbeats Pro, Solo3 Wireless, and Studio3 Wireless are set to support it.
Audio Sharing was supposed to roll out with iOS 13, but it was moved to iOS 13.1, which is scheduled to be launched on Sept. 24, a couple of days earlier than its original Sept. 30 release date.
The Cupertino brand let older models use the feature during the early beta builds of iOS 13, but now only select hardware are compatible with it.
Aside from a compatible headphone and iOS 13.1 installed, users will need an iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, 12.9-inch iPad Pro (second generation or later), 11-inch iPad Pro, iPad Air (third generation), iPad mini (fifth generation), or iPod touch (seventh generation) to use Audio Sharing.
Powerbeats Pro And AirPods 2
The Powerbeats Pro and AirPods 2 are among the best wireless earbuds for iPhone, iPod, and iPad users, both of which even made Tech Times' list of best truly wireless earbuds of 2019, along with the likes of the Galaxy Buds and Anker Soundcore Liberty Air.
As for whether the Powerbeats Pro or the AirPods 2 is the better pick, the former beats the latter in a number of ways. For starters, it provides better noise isolation because of its in-ear plugs, and its hooks lets users work out without having to worry if their earbuds would fall off. Still, the AirPods 2 is more affordable.
