Amazon is getting ready to unveil a slew of new hardware.
The retailer has sent out invitations to the press for an event scheduled to take place on Sept. 25 at its headquarters in Seattle.
More Alexa-Enabled Devices Underway
As reported by The Verge, Amazon didn't reveal much on the invites. It only said that it's going to "share some new things from the Amazon Devices and Services team." Despite that, the consensus is that it's going to take the wraps off new Amazon Echo and Amazon Fire TV devices and other hardware related to the products, and as the news outlet notes, it could have a surprise up its sleeve.
Speaking of Echo devices, a Bloomberg report back in July, which cites "people familiar with the matter," said that the company has a high-end smart speaker in the works. It's said to be poised to go toe-to-toe with the likes of Apple and its HomePod, Google and its Home Max, Sonos, and other premium speakers. It won't be too surprising if Amazon does reveal something along those lines at the event.
At IFA 2019, which was held in early September, the company had already announced a range of Fire TV devices, including the first OLED TV with Fire TV and built-in Alexa and a new and improved Fire TV Cube, to name two.
This Year's Consumer Products
Big tech announcements are about to wrap up for 2019, with the likes of Samsung and Apple already done with their presentations. These were the grounds where products such as the Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Note 10 were revealed, as well as the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max, among other things.
That said, Microsoft also has something planned for Oct. 2, which is expected to be more than just about Surface devices. In other words, besides Amazon's big show, there's still at least one more event to look forward to before the holiday season goes into full gear.
