The latest Death Stranding trailer reveals an interesting new character whose heart stops but comes back to life after three minutes.
The two-minute reveal video, which was first shown during this year's San Diego Comic-Con, offers a look at the new character named Heartman, a BRIDGES member.
New Comic-Con 2019 Trailer
During a panel interview at the Comic-Con 2019, Hideo Kojima and Danish filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn discussed the game's newest character.
Heartman's heart stops every 21 minutes and then, he dies. However, he is revived by a defibrillator attached to his chest. After his heart stops, Heartman spends his three minutes in the place of the great unknown searching for his family before being resurrected by the defibrillator strapped to his chest.
In the new Death Stranding trailer, he is seen being resuscitated. Then he sets a 21-minute egg timer and continues his previous discussion about his predicament. Heartman says that most of his life's basic functions fit rather easily into a 21-minute timeslot.
Heartman also explains that he is already used to his situation, showing a library of short films, music, and reading materials that can be consumed within a 21-minute period.
