Epic Games rolls out the new patch 9.40 for Fortnite, adding fresh content, bug fixes, and other gameplay changes.
The latest patch for the massively popular Battle Royale arrives after quite a while since the last big update was launched. Patch 9.40 is now available for download on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
What's New In 'Fortnite'?
Fortnite's patch 9.40 offers a slew of content such as new versions of a shotgun as well as changes to other areas of the game. GameSpot, however, points out that one significant inclusion that is not found in the patch notes is the continued creation of a giant pink robot. This addition possibly has to do something with an in-game culminating event of season 9 and opening of the 10th season.
Moreover, the Tactical Shotgun gets several new versions found in Epic and Legendary variants from floor loot, chests, supply drops, loot carriers, and vending machines. Its maximum damage is 83/87 and is capable of 1.5 shots per second. The multiplier is 2.25 for players who can hit a headshot using this weapon.
Gamers also see the return of the Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle, but in exchange, its suppressed variant is kept in the Vault. There are also some changes to the Semi-Auto Sniper Rifle and the Combat Shotgun, which also got nerfed.
Other Gameplay Changes, Bug Fixes
Patch 9.40 also brings in several gameplay changes and bug fixes. One great addition is that players can now instantly collect a consumable if it is available in their inventory and has not reached the limit.
The bug fixes included in the newest update are the following:
- Drum Shotgun now has the correct environmental damage falloff.
- Fixed a bug in which a Launch Pad couldn't be destroyed by a pickaxe.
