UK beting company Ladbrokes has sponsored a mental agility test called "A Test Of Wits," which suggests that iPhones users are the smartest while BlackBerry handset users are not so smart.
A thousand smartphone users were challenged to take a series of questions designed to access their mental alertness. The test segregated the participants based on the smartphone brand they used.
"A Test Of Wits" comprised of seven brain teasers with multiple answers and participants had to select a correct answer before moving on to the next question. A participant is assessed based on the time taken to answer all seven questions correctly.
The test results found that iPhone users had the quickest wits of all and completed the test at an average of 94 seconds. BlackBerry users were slowest to complete the test and took an average time of 118 seconds.
Nexus handset users completed the test at an average time of 99 seconds and Samsung owners typically finished the test in 103 seconds. However, the fastest participant, who completed the test in 47 seconds, owned a Samsung handset.
HTC phone owners were at the fourth position and completed the test at around 105 seconds, followed by Nokia users, who managed to complete the test at an average of 109 seconds.
In August 2013, UK-based TalkTalk Mobile conducted a study on 2,000 smartphone owners of three major mobile device platforms. The study revealed that iPhone owners spend more on clothes and grooming than the owners of BlackBerrys and Android phones.
The TalkTalk Mobile study also found that BlackBerry handset owners earned more and are more likely to have long-term relationships when compared to iPhone and Android users. The study also indicated that Android handset owners have the best manners and are handy in the kitchen. The study was to determine whether the choice of handset was an extension of a user's personality.
The test is still live and interested users can visit "A Test Of Wits" website to see how fast they answer to the questions.
