New Season Of 'Destiny 2' To Focus On Gambit Mode: Here's What To Expect From Spring Event

A few months after Bungie had parted ways with Activision, it debuts the first season of Destiny 2 called the Season of the Drifter.

The Season of the Drifter might be the game developer's way to lure the gamers who have not played Destiny 2 for some time to come back to the fold.

The Season of the Drifter Begins

The first season is slated to kick off on Wednesday, March 5. As it begins, gamers will see the return of the Drifter with an all-new way to play the Gambit. There will be new challenges as well that can make the player's Guardian even more powerful.

The Season of the Drifter focuses on the Gambit mode, specifically on the mysterious figure's background and his perilous alliance to the Nine, which first appeared in Destiny 1.

What To Expect From First Season Of 'Destiny 2'

In its official blog, Bungie reveals the details on what the gamers can look forward to in the first season of the second Destiny game.

"For every player of Destiny 2, the Season of the Drifter will bring a new offering of rewards and challenges. As ranks in Crucible, Gambit, and Vanguard activities reset, new pinnacle weapons will beckon Guardians to reach their maximum potential again," Bungie wrote on its official website.

Bungie added that the first spring event for the online-only first-person space shooter game will unfold a familiar forest in bloom with new loot. Players can potentially earn additional Power, Triumphs, lore, and vanity.

The first season of Destiny 2 also brings The Reckoning, a cooperative experience that is intended to be a "fast-paced" battle with more challenging tiers. Players can also take on missions from the Vanguard or the Drifter's standpoint in Allegiance Quests.

Gamers who have the Destiny 2 Annual Pass will be entitled to the second extension for the title's endgame. They will be given access to Gambit Prime, a dedicated version of the PvE/PvP hybrid mode. It brings everything together in the first round and stimulates specialization.

The Season of the Drifter will end in May, then the second season called Season of Opulence will begin in June. The game developer, however, has not yet given any clue what is in store for the third season of Destiny 2.
