Samsung seems to be very keen on attending the 2015 CES event in Las Vegas where it is expected to show off a number of its upcoming products. One of them is a pair of speakers, which have been shaped in the form of an egg but boasts an elegant finish that can easily match any type of room.
Dubbed Samsung WAM7500 and WAM6500, the speakers are designed to deliver sound in a 360-degree radius. This type of effect is made possible by using the so-called "Ring Radiator" technology. As a result, the speakers can easily fill a room with sound.
Seeing the speakers for the first time has so far elicited varying opinion on their appearance. While some have described them to be a sleek cross between a Portal turret and Eve from Wall-E, there are those who have noted that they strike a distinctive "2001: A Space Odyssey" meets "Alien" pod resemblance.
The WAM7500 and 6500 speakers were, in part, developed at the new audio lab of Samsung in California where the company used premium made materials across the speakers' exterior part. This has allowed the speakers to blend in style with any type of home décor.
The WAM7500 uses a stand that offers an elegant design. Perhaps it can even be mistaken as a space-age desk lamp in a stylish futuristic hotel room setting.
The WAM6500 is the movable edition, which comes with a built-in battery, allowing users to enjoy the best sound quality whether they are indoor or outdoor. It is light and portable.
Both speaker models can connect seamlessly to mobile devices, soundbars and TVs. Both devices also function with Bluetooth.
Pricing details for the devices are yet to be announced by Samsung.
"We know how much people love music and that's why we are expanding our portfolio to bring high-quality, wireless audio into the home," said Jurack Chae, senior vice president of Samsung Electronics. "With the new WAM7500/6500 people can enjoy a vibrant sound wherever they are, while our new Curved Soundbars perfectly complement the TV viewing experience."
Apart from the speakers, Samsung is also gearing up to unveil the first TV matching Curved Soundbar lineup in the world. The company is set to release the 6000, 6500 and 8500 series, which will join the current 7500 series. The 8500 series is said to deliver enhanced sound quality that is made possible by its 9.1 channel speakers, a central speaker and also side speakers added at both ends.
