LG Outs Music Flow Wi-Fi Speakers. Music in Every Room in Your House Sans the Cords

LG has taken the wraps off its new Music Flow Wi-Fi Series line-up, which includes the first-ever battery-powered Wi-Fi speaker from the company.

On Tuesday, Dec. 23, LG unveiled three new devices in a bid to expand its home entertainment audio line-up. The Wi-Fi speakers from the company, is accompanied by two other new devices i.e. the Wi-Fi Sound Bars and the Streaming 3D Blu-ray Player. The new line-up of speakers from LG are "designed to be compatible" with both iOS and Android devices.

"The flexibility and quality of the LG Music Flow Wi-Fi Series delivers a listening experience that goes beyond what conventional audio systems have been able to offer until now," revealed Byung-hoon Min, SVP and head of the CAV division at the LG Home Entertainment Company. "With Wi-Fi capability and high-fidelity audio output, our Music Flow Wi-Fi Series is the epitome of what a smart audio system should be capable of in the 21st century."

The Music Flow Wi-Fi series from LG is similar to existing wireless audio systems such as Sonos, Samsung Shape and Play-Fi. These speakers will be able to offer support for music in every room of a user's house without any fuss of having cords.

Music Flow also has the ability to connect with a device independently over a Wi-Fi connection seamlessly. Moreover, even if a user received a call on their smartphone, the music will continue being played without any interruptions - something which occurs when using Bluetooth speakers.

The new speakers from LG are also capable of directly playing music from the mobile app whenever the smartphone comes within a foot of the speakers. Users can also manage the speakers by deploying the mobile app for Music Flow, which also streams content from third-party music providers such as Napster, Spotify, TuneIn and Deezer.

The Wi-Fi Speaker is the Model H4 Portable, whereas the two sound bars are Models HS7 and HS91. The 3D Blu-ray Player has the Model BP550. However, apart from the model numbers, LG is yet to reveal any other details pertaining to the features of these devices.

The speakers from LG will also offer the HomeChat feature, which basically means that a user can text instructions to their speaker such as switching off in five minutes or setting up an alarm for a particular time.

The speakers are slated to make their debut at the CES 2015 in January.
