LG Lifeband Touch fitness tracker render leaked

A leaked photo of the LG Lifeband Touch fitness tracker suggests that the company may launch the wearable gadget at the upcoming 2014 International CES in January or at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event in February this year.

The CES and the MWC are two of the most reputed technology events where many companies exhibit their products. The media and businesses throng the CES and MWC every year to check out a slew of gadgets that boast of latest technology advancements, and this year, visitors to the CES or MWC may witness the launch of LG's fitness tracker, dubbed the "Lifeband Touch."

Leakster @evleaks (aka Evan Nelson Blass) has posted a render of the rumored LG wearable gadget, the Lifeband Touch on Twitter and, per the render, the form factor of the Lifeband Touch seems very similar to the LG Smart Activity Tracker that the company displayed at last year's CES. LG said at the time that the wearable technology device will make its way to shelves in summer of 2013 but failed to keep up with its promise.

However, it seems that this year the company may finally launch its fitness tracker and give competition to other devices in its category such as the Nike+ FuelBand SE. Recent rumors indicate that the South Korean company is also developing wearable devices, including a smartwatch called G Arch and a health and fitness wristband named G Health.

Both these gadgets are supposed to be complement the company's upcoming flagship smartphone, the LG G3.

LG has not confirmed any specifications or price of the Lifeband Touch. However, gadget enthusiasts will hope that the Lifeband Touch offers similar or improved functionality when compared to rival products.

Nike released its activity tracker called the Nike+ Fuelband SE in November 2013. The gadget can track a user's sleep schedule and has a starting price tag of $149. Customers will hope that the LG Lifeband Touch is priced competitively when compared to the Nike+ Fuelband SE.
