Shortly after images of Sony Xperia XZ4 had surfaced on the internet last week, several photos of Olixar cases appeared online showing some key details on the design of the upcoming device.
Sony Xperia XZ4 Design Leaked
In a recent report by GSMArena, the Sony Xperia XZ4 cases confirmed the rumors of a tall screen with a 21:9 ratio. The three cameras are lined vertically while the dual LED flash is located above them.
The back panel does not show any fingerprint scanner because it is reportedly placed on the side, between the volume button and power key. This is not surprising since Sony is known in making devices with sensors on the side.
MobileFun, the online retailer that shows XZ4 cases, posted cases from Olixar including leather-style cases, protective cases with a stand on the back, and silicone cases. Prices of these cases range from $5 and $15. There is also a carbon fiber case based on the leaked photos.
Sony is expected to reveal the Xperia XZ4 at Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona, Spain on Feb. 25 to 28. Other specs that are known so far is that it will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset and an Adreno 640 graphics processor. Its screen can render a 4K HDR video, and it will not have a 3.5 mm audio jack.
Snapdragon 855 is an octa-core processor that has four battery-saving cores clocked at 1.78GHz, three cores clocked at 2.42GHz, and special core for performance boost clocked at 2.84GHz.
MWC 2019 Reveal
Sony has scheduled its MWC 2019 press conference on Feb. 25 at 8:30 a.m. CET (2:30 a.m. ET). Aside from Xperia XZ4, the tech giant is also expected to announce the Xperia XA, Xperia N1, and introduce other Xperia-branded accessories. The smartphone maker may also announce the Xperia XA3, Xperia XA3 Ultra, and Xperia L3 smartphones.
However, there are reports that the Xperia XZ4 Compact may not arrive at the MWC 2019 but at other events this year. Sony unveiled the Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact at the MWC 2018. It then unveiled the Sony Xperia XZ3 at the Internationale Funkausstellung or IFA 2018 in Berlin.
