Former Bodyguard Being Sued By Kim Kardashian's Insurance Company Over Paris Heist

Kim Kardashian West's bodyguard is being sued by the insurance company that paid her after she was robbed in Paris two years ago.

American International Group, or AIG, filed the case against Pascal Duvier and Protect Security, his security firm, on Oct. 3 in Delaware. AIG requested a staggering $6.1 million. Robbers got millions of dollars' worth of jewelry in Kardashian West's private apartment in October 2016, when she was visiting for Paris fashion week.

Case Against Kardashian West's Bodyguard

The insurance company claims that Duvier and his film neglectfully, sloppily, and recklessly did their job to protect, secure, supervise, and inspect the area. In the document, AIG stated that the offenders left the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star alone in her room.

Furthermore, they did not address and correct breaches in security, including an intercom that was broken, a damaged or missing lock, and the lack of closed circuit television in the building where the celebrity was staying.

Additionally, the company said that the concierge of the structure did not have any background or training in security. Notably, the woman behind KKW beauty was gagged and threatened by a gun during the robbery in Paris. A total of $10 million worth of jewelry and cash was robbed from her.

According to reports, the insurance company paid $6.1 million for the stolen items, which included her 20-carat engagement ring from famous rapper Kanye West.

A source stated that the star now has security 24/7, and she always knows who is with her and where she is staying. Moreover, she has shied off from jewelries since the theft.

"Her life has changed dramatically. She's always cautious where she goes," an insider said, adding that her security now does a pre-checkup before she goes anywhere.

In November 2016, Duvier was let go from his job with the celebrity. However, the decision was not personal. Instead, it was part of a process that completely overhauled her security. Duvier started working for Kardashian West five years ago.

"Pascal no longer works for Kim and Kanye, but he wasn't fired. He instead reassigned himself to another family for professional reasons," said a source.
