Kanye West received backlash from the Saturday Night Live audience when he delivered a speech solidifying his support for President Trump.
At the end of his impromptu rant, West got booed by the show's audience. Some of the SNL cast members even shook their heads. The world-famous rapper also wore a hat with Trump's slogan during his performance.
West's Impromptu Rant
After his last song, he went on with a long speech instead of thanking the audience and saying goodbye. It did not make it to the broadcast; however, it was captured by some of the audience, including Chris Rock — one of the show's host. At one point of his video, the comedian even expressed his shock.
"I wanna cry right now, black man in America, supposed to keep what you're feelin' inside right now...," the "Ghost Town" singer started, as a melody plays in the background.
"The blacks want always Democrats...you know it's like the plan they did, to take the fathers out the home and put them on welfare... does anybody know about that? That's a Democratic plan," he added.
The rapper also said that he's always asked by white people why he likes a racist President, to which he replied, if racism was something he was concerned about, he would have migrated to another country years ago.
He ended his speech by thanking everyone for giving him the avenue to share his thoughts. He also said that he knows that many people do not share the same belief as him, but hating at Trump would not be helpful.
After he finished his speech, he did not get a resounding applause. Some audience can even be heard laughing in the video. This is West's third performance on the show. He replaced Ariana Grande as the musical guest after the "God Is A Woman" singer canceled her appearance.
Trump Supporter
West's family witnessed his performance. His wife, reality star Kim Kardashian, and their 5-year-old daughter, North, who just walked her first runway, were there. Additionally, Scott Disick, 35, and Kourtney Kardashian were also present to watch the hit comedy show.
Despite getting booed, the singer tweeted that he had fun on the show. He even added that its creator, Lorne Michaels, has agreed that he would host before the end of the year. No date has been set yet.
West's support for Trump is something he is proud of. He has been spotted wearing the red MAGA hat multiple times.
