Sony revealed the free games that PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to download for October 2018, setting the Halloween mood with Friday the 13th: The Game for the PlayStation 4 headlining the lineup.
PlayStation Plus also tried to get the Halloween spirit right in October 2017, when Amnesia: Collection was offered alongside Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Friday the 13th: The Game, however, does a much better job at that.
Free PS Plus Games For October 2018
Sony unveiled the free PlayStation Plus games for October 2018 through an official PlayStation blog post.
Friday the 13th: The Game for the PlayStation 4, which started life as a Kickstarter project, offers players the chance to wear the mask of Jason Voorhees, or take on the role of one of the camp counselors who will be trying to survive the night at Camp Crystal lake. Jason may seem unstoppable with all the brutal kills that he is capable of pulling off, but there is a way for the camp counselors to kill Jason and end his rampage.
The next free PlayStation 4 game in the lineup is Laser League, a multiplayer, futuristic sports game that features colorful visuals, fast-paced action, and strategic team play.
PlayStation 3 owners will also be able to download Master Reboot, a sci-adventure game set in a world where death is no longer final because people can upload their souls to the Soul Cloud, and The Bridge, a puzzle platformer that plays on the concept of gravity. The Bridge is also a cross-buy for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
Speaking of the PlayStation Vita, the handheld console will also receive two free PS Plus games, namely fun side-scroller Rocketbirds 2: Evolution and cyberpunk adventure 2064: Read Only Memories. Both games are also cross-buy titles with the PlayStation 4.
Free PS Plus Games For September 2018
The next batch of titles will not go online for a few days, giving subscribers time to download the free PlayStation Plus games for September 2018.
This month's free games are a pair of AAA titles, Destiny 2 and God of War III Remastered. The two franchises have different paths ahead of them though. While the Destiny sequel is still trying to win back gamers for its early issues, this year's God of War became the fastest-selling PlayStation 4 exclusive in history.
The other free games for this month are Another World - 20th Anniversary Edition and QUBE Director's Cut for the PlayStation 3, and Sparkle 2 and Foul Play for the PlayStation Vita.
