Galaxy Note 9 users are finally awarded a quick fix for their Bixby troubles with the help of Google Play Store application known as bxActions.
The bxActions is girded with a dexterity to remap the Bixby button, wherein users can modify the action that takes place when they press the Bixby control. A remapped Bixby button can provide users with the competency to initiate 30 actions, which include using the Google Assistant.
It can be recalled that prior models of Samsung such as the Galaxy S8, Note 8 and Galaxy S9 enabled users to disable the Bixby feature in the settings menu. However, with the company adopting a Bixby 2.0 peripheral, Samsung decided that users should no longer be permitted to disable Bixby.
Fortunately, bxActions is here to assist users in preventing them to get stuck with the Bixby launching every time they press the Bixby button. However, the new generation of Bixby means that not all components of the application work on the Galaxy Note 9 as they do on Galaxy models exhibiting the initial version of Bixby.
Installing bxActions To Samsung Galaxy Note 9
As soon as the application is downloaded, users are given an option to grant permissions to enable the application to work based on their preferences. Among those include giving it permission to access the users' usage data and an accessibility option that allows the app to monitor when users press the Bixby button.
Likewise, users can customize the Bixby button to their likings by toggling the power menu and the flashlight and clearing the notifications. The bxActions also lets users set supplemental shortcuts that are switched on with a long press and a double press of the Bixby button.
Pocketnow mentioned that some actions such as double-pressing the Bixby button does not support remapping. However, it added that this might change in the foreseeable future when either Samsung takes action or the developers of the application find a way to crack it.
A $2.99 in-app purchase permits users to gain entry to more features. The application is currently a work in progress as the developers are constantly working on embellishing the functions of the application.
On the other hand, users can also disable voice wakeup and Bixby Home to limit their exposure to Bixby. To deactivate voice wakeup, users need to head to the Voice Wake-Up section of Bixby Voice Settings menu in the Settings app and click turn off the "Wake with "Hi, Bixby" option.
