Sony unveiled the list of free PlayStation Plus games for July 2018, which is headlined by the psychological thriller Heavy Rain and the customizable fighter Absolver.
Sony also announced a special PlayStation Now promotion for PlayStation Plus members, offering a discount for access to the service's collection of hundreds of PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 2 games.
Free PS Plus Games July 2018
For the month of July, PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to download Heavy Rain and Absolver for the PlayStation 4 for free.
Heavy Rain was developed by Quantic Dream, the same studio behind the recently released Detroit: Become Human. Players will investigate a serial murderer named the Origami Killer in a branching story that features four character, different paths, and multiple endings.
Absolver, meanwhile, is a fighting game that allows players to customize their moves for unique fighting styles. It offers both PvP and PvE modes and is a relatively new title that was only released in August last year.
PlayStation 3 gamers will be able to download platformer Rayman 3 HD and trap strategy game Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess, while for PlayStation Vita owners, the free titles are action game Space Overlords and story-driven adventure game Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma. Space Overlords is also a cross-buy title with the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
Last but not least, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is still available for PlayStation Plus subscribers, but only until July 11. The critically acclaimed shooter was announced as a free download at E3 2018, ahead of the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
PlayStation Now Promotion
In addition to the free games for July 2018, Sony announced a PlayStation Now promo that will run until Sept. 25.
PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to sign up for PlayStation Now or extend their current subscription, with a special price of $29.99 for three months, compared to the original price of $44.99 for three months.
PlayStation Now offers access to over 650 PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 2 games, which will be streamed to the PlayStation 4 or PC.
PlayStation Hits Now Available
For PlayStation 4 owners who want access to the console's best classic titles, Sony recently launched the PlayStation Hits collection. PlayStation Hits games will come with the familiar red label, and will only cost $19.99 each.
The PlayStation Hits line-up currently includes 15 of the best PlayStation 4 games including Bloodborne, The Last of Us: Remastered, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Definitive Experience, and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.
