At this point, it would likely surprise the gaming fans if Fortnite isn't actually coming to the Nintendo Switch.
Apparently, there's already an overwhelming volume of evidence suggesting it will definitely be ported over to Nintendo's hybrid gaming machine.
The latest evidence, leaked recently on Twitter, is the most reassuring by far. It appears that Twitter user SciresM uncovered a logo and an update file from the Nintendo eShop.
The user found a number of references to Fortnite and what looks to be the game's official home menu icon, which is even formatted as a square, the default icon shape of Switch titles.
Fortnite For Nintendo Switch Gets Even More Plausible
These findings follow an alleged leaked E3 document, which listed Fortnite as one the number of unannounced Switch games. This is in addition to a sighting of the game on the website of the Korean Ratings Board.
Fortnite being on the Switch is now more than mere speculation, given the evidence. The game already runs on all the most popular gaming platforms, anyway, including PC, macOS, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It's even available on iOS.
In other words, there's no reason why it can't run on the Switch, especially if Epic Games stands to attract new audiences via this port. The console considerably continues to sell like hotcakes in the United States and abroad.
To date, neither Epic Games nor Nintendo has officially announced the existence of Fortnite for the Switch. However, it seems practically confirmed given the heaps of evidence that surfaced so far.
The big question is whether the Switch port will just get the Battle Royale mode or the complete Fortnite package including the Save The World campaign.
Will It Feature Cross-Play?
Another question is if the Switch port will support cross-platform play between PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and iOS users, although it's safe to assume so.
As of now, the only thing missing is an official announcement, but Nintendo will likely drop the news at its E3 2018 video presentation scheduled on June 13 at 12 p.m. EST. Make sure to check back with Tech Times as the biggest gaming event of the year finally happens.
Nintendo is poised to focus on Switch games launching this year, so don't expect core Pokémon game news. E3, however, is always full of surprises.
