Overwatch is celebrating its second anniversary with a few surprises including new skins and other cosmetics. However, a bug ruins the surprise by revealing them all.
The bug in the Taiwan servers prematurely allowed a few players into the Anniversary event and so, they were able to post screenshots for the whole internet to see.
All 11 'Overwatch' Anniversary Event Skins Revealed
According to the leak, the Anniversary event features 11 new skins, eight of which are legendary and three epic. Lightning Tracer, Venom Soldier 76, and 8-bit Lucio are Epic skins while the Sherlock McCree, Magician Symmetra, Cyborg Torbjorn, Tuxedo Doomfist, Stealth Bastion, Pirate Junkrat, Shield Maiden Brigitte, and Dryad Orisa are Legendary.
The skin names were loosely translated from the Taiwanese Overwatch client, so these are probably not accurate. However, they are pretty descriptive of the new skins. Those who want to see the new skins ahead of the anniversary event can find them in the video below.
Fans will likely see the official English names of these skins when the Anniversary event kicks off on May 22. In addition to the new skins, the event's banner also teases skins from past events, such as the Witch Mercy skin and Graffiti Tracer.
The new look of the Anniversary Loot Box was also leaked alongside the skins.
Other Surprises In Store For Players
The Overwatch Anniversary event features 50 new limited cosmetic items, including the 11 skins listed above. Apart from new sprays, the event also brings the dance emotes for Doomfist, Moira, and Brigitte, all of which were released when the game celebrated its first anniversary.
It also includes the new map Petra, a Deathmatch map that pits each hero against each other until one wins the match.
"Take in Petra's majestic views, from high vistas to twisting passageways and deep caverns," the description reads. "Travel along deadly cliffs, but be careful to not fall off!"
The map is that of an excavation and preservation project of the ruins of Petra. Aside from the tight corridors and deadly cliffs, the new map provides additional challenges in the form of an old bridge spanning the entire map. If the ground beneath crumbles away, a "lethal pit" unveils itself with yet unknown dangers.
Petra also features a green jump pad that launches players to higher levels, which is where snipers will probably camp out while the other players take on each other in close quarters below them.
Overwatch is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC.
