The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus have just leaked online in real-life photos, showing a brand new Burgundy Red avatar.
Samsung did the same for last year's Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus flagships, introducing a red color option more than six months after the commercial launch. Now, it's getting ready to do the same for its 2018 flagships.
Samsung Galaxy S9 Burgundy Red
Samsung already announced the red versions of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus in China, where they are already available for preorder. No specific launch date is available yet, but the new color options are expected to go on sale within the next few weeks.
At the same time, Samsung has yet to mention whether the Burgundy Red versions of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will also launch globally and if so, when they will go up for preorder in other markets worldwide.
Galaxy S9 Color Options
The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus are currently available in Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, Lilac Purple, and Coral Blue, but availability varies by market. Considering that the company made the red models of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus widely available worldwide, however, the same could apply to this year's flagships as well.
Red seems to be a popular option for consumers worldwide and it seems to be catching on, not just for Galaxy flagships. Apple also released Product Red iPhones last year and this year, OnePlus offered a limited edition OnePlus 5T in a Lava Red avatar, and other OEMs could soon join the trend.
Samsung already posted images of the red Galaxy S9 phones on its Chinese website, but the latest leak shows the devices in real-life images and they don't disappoint. The new avatar is bold and vibrant and could appeal to those who are looking to add a touch of color.
In China, both the 64 GB and 128 GB models of Galaxy S9 is available in Burgundy Red while the Galaxy S9 Plus offers the Burgundy Red version only for the 128 GB variant. It remains unclear whether the same will apply to global versions.
Other than the different color option, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus remain unchanged compared to the original smartphones. They carry the same design, identical specifications, the same software, features, and everything.
