A slew of content such as a new car, weapon, map selection, weapon balance changes, and more are on the way for PUBG after it passes test servers.
The latest changes that will go through the testing phase is reportedly called update number 12 and parades new features for the game. Gamers can expect the usual gameplay tweaks and bug fixes that seek to address issues discovered or reported by players.
News about the update comes shortly after Fortnite Battle Royale, its biggest rival, just announced its update roadmap last week.
Dealing Damage
The game studio noted that the new test server patch will include adjustments made to the amount of damage dealt with weapons. The data collected by the development team shows that gamers tend to prefer certain weapons due to its damage potential. Thus, the balance changes will hopefully encourage players to test out other weapons.
All of the listed pistols' damage get buffed while auto rifles are mostly nerfed except for Groza and AKM, which retained their original stats. Two of the game's four shotguns get nerfed with one DMR that is likewise adjusted for lower damage. Everything else get buffed or retained its original damage numbers
A Longer Testing Phase
According to the game studio, all of the changes applied to the test servers will not go live anytime soon.
"We're going to keep the changes on the test server for longer than we normally would," said PUBG Corp. "We'll be listening and making changes based on your feedback before pushing this update live. So please share your thoughts with us!"
Sources claim that longer testing phase is supposedly due to the weapon balance changes that will definitely affect gameplay a lot. The developer presumably wants top players and the community to submit feedback on how the game feels with more flexibility when it comes to weapons.
More Features Included
Moreover, a new option that is included with the update finally allows gamers to choose their favorite map. The live version of the battle royale shooter randomly chooses the location of the match.
Users can opt to play on a specific map only and this helps gamers to familiarize themselves with the map's intricacies. Currently, the two maps available are Erangel or Miramar but it is expected to grow soon with the introduction of a map known as Savage.
Furthermore, a new vehicle called the Mirado, which is described as a "classic muscle car," and has seats up to four players, is now available on the PUBG test servers. It can only be availed on the Miramar map and can be found in its main city streets and downtown areas.
