More information about the LG G7 ThinQ has surfaced and this time, from the South Korean company itself. Apparently, the handset's display can get super bright.
Thanks to previous leaks, fans now know that the LG G7 ThinQ's display will have a notch like the one on the iPhone X and a bottom bezel. Its official reveal is only a few weeks away, yet the company feels that it should provide more details about its upcoming flagship.
LG G7 ThinQ Display Completely Revealed
LG has announced that the G7 ThinQ's 6.1-inch display with a QHD+ resolution can go up to 1,000 nits. In comparison, most smartphones peak at 400 to 700 nits. The Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Note 8 come to mind with their ability to go beyond 1,000-nit brightness. However, users cannot control it unless it is in direct sunlight.
LG's Super Bright Display LCD technology should allow users to use it comfortably in any lighting condition, especially under bright sunlight. Even so, the company claims that it consumes less power than the LG G6 by up to 30 percent. Also, the smartphone maker has developed the colors on the display to look under sunlight.
"Color tones on the LG G7 ThinQ will look rich and natural even under bright light courtesy of the newly developed Super Bright Display by LG that covers 100 percent of DCI-P3 color space," said LG in its press release.
The LG G7 ThinQ's LCD display will also have the ability to adapt to six color modes, namely Auto, Cinema, Eco, Expert, Games, and Sports. Turning on the Auto mode will allow the handset to analyze the content on the display such as a photo or a game, and turn on the corresponding color setting while reducing power consumption.
The photo accompanying the press release also confirms the notch, which can disappear if the top bar's background is black.
LG G7 ThinQ Design And Specs Leaked
A fairly recent leak courtesy of notorious tipster Evan Blass showcased the LG G7 ThinQ in every angle, revealing the notch and the yet another controversial feature, the dedicated Google Assistant button.
Previous leaks also exposed five color options of Platinum Grey, Aurora Black, Moroccan Blue, Matte Moroccan Blue, and Raspberry Rose, as well as the G7 ThinQ's hardware specifications.
The new flagship will reportedly have a Snapdragon 845 chip, 4 GB RAM, and 64 GB internal storage. The cameras at the back both have 16 megapixels.
Putting all these pieces of information together, fans now have a pretty good picture of the LG G7 ThinQ. Still, LG is set to reveal some more of its features in New York on May 2.
