Ubisoft is planning to release new post-launch content for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands' second year, starting with an April update.
Ubisoft will drop four major updates for Year 2, each called Special Operations. Each update will include new Ghost War updates, new PvE experiences, and highly requested features. The first one, aptly named Special Operations 1, will arrive as soon as April 10.
Ghost Recon: Wildlands Special Operations 1 Update
To begin the Year 2, Ubisoft is bringing a new PvP mode in Ghost War with five new maps. Called Sabotage, the 4-versus-4 mode will feature an attacking team and a defending team.
The attacking team's goal is to capture and hold an objective while the defending team tries to prevent them until time runs out. Either team can also win by eliminating all of the opposing team members.
The Ghost Recon: Wildlands April update also adds a highly requested feature in the PvE mode, which allows players to customize their teammates' outfit.
"You asked for it, and we heard you. AI Teammates' outfits can now be customized in our Campaign Mode to suit your gameplay approach. All-out stealth or R6 tribute? The choice is yours," Ubisoft said in a post.
Players can also expect a new theme, a new PvE mission, and a new PvP class — the first of six new classes — coming their way on April 10.
Year 2 Pass For 'Ghost Recon: Wildlands' Year 2 Content
Ubisoft also introduces the Year 2 pass, which gives players access to all Ghost War classes, a new customization pack, and eight Battle Crates consisting of four Special Ops and four Ghost War. It also offers a one-week early access to all six of the Year 2 Ghost War classes.
The Ghost Recon: Wildlands Year 2 pass is available for $30.
More Year 2 Information To Be Revealed
Ubisoft mentioned that each Special Operations update will be centered on a strong theme. As of now, it's unknown what the theme of Special Operations 1 will be, as well as the other three. New details, including the new PvP class and the new PvE mission, of the first update are not yet disclosed as well.
According to Ubisoft, more information about the first Ghost Recon: Wildlands Special Operations will be revealed in the next few days, possibly before it is officially released. Nonetheless, the company is hoping that the over 10 million players will look forward to the updates.
"We hope that you are as excited as we are for the beginning of the second year content for Ghost Recon: Wildlands," said Ubisoft in the video announcement.
