Alleged renders of the LG G7 showed up on the internet, providing a clear look at what the flagship looks like.
Notorious tipster OnLeaks from Twitter, in collaboration with Mr. Phone, leaked the renders. The tipster has a good track record of posting accurate leaks, which gives the renders some merit.
LG G7 Renders Feature A Notch
According to the leak, the LG G7 seems to be taking a page out of the iPhone X design handbook. The front side features a bezel-less display with a notch at the top to house the peripherals, such as the front-facing camera.
This seems to be a direct rip-off of Apple's 10th anniversary iPhone, especially considering the fact that LG previously asked the users of Reddit if they like that notch's look or not.
"We would love to gather some more feedback to share with our R&D team - and this is where you come in. So ... what do you think? Love the Notch? Or is it Notch your thing?" the post by user LG_Support reads.
The post then received massive backlash due to the hate for the notch, which prompted the user to delete the post. Nonetheless, it looks like LG is pushing through with the notch on the LG G7.
LG G7 Design
Apart from the notch, fans can also see a headphone jack that was previously thought to have been removed from the LG G7. Along with the 3.5 mm jack is a USB Type-C port and a speaker.
The left and right sides have the expected volume buttons but there are two with unknown functions. The one on the left is being speculated as a power button, which was previously doubling as the rear fingerprint sensor. Fans have no idea what the button on the right, below the button rockers, is for, though.
Lastly, the back features a curved glass with a vertical dual-camera setup and a fingerprint scanner. That's about everything that the leaks revealed. Overall, the LG G7 does look solid and smooth.
LG G7 Specifications And Other Rumors
No details about the LG G7 are confirmed as of yet, but the industry believes it might not even be called the G7. Earlier in January, LG expressed its plans to ditch the G-branding in favor of something new.
Less about the name, the LG G7 is expected to be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 6 GB RAM, 64 or 128 GB internal storage, and 3,300 mAh battery. The release date should be sometime in June.
