Fortnite 3.4 update has just landed, bringing a host of new items and improvements in Battle Royale and Save the World.
V3.4 also celebrates the Easter holidays with Easter-themed items and Easter Eggs.
Fortnite Battle Royale Improvements
The new update brings back the Boogie Bomb and adds the Guided Missile, which lets the players take control of it after it has been launched. However, players won't be able to move their character once they take the missile's POV. They can disconnect anytime, though, and the missile will still continue on to its trajectory.
In the Limited Time Mode: Sniper Shootout v2, the Crossbow and Hunting Rifle have been added, while the Revolver has been removed. There's no more Downed State as well, as players will be eliminated instead.
Fortnite Save the World Improvements
In the Save the World side of Fortnite, the 3.4 update ends the Spring It On event with "The Three Husketeers" questline. The finale will bring an "eggs-treme" Mini-Boss fight, huge explosions, and the Spring-themed mission Trojan Bunny. Players can also expect a battle with three Storm Mini-Bosses.
Two new Easter-themed skins have also arrived: Rabbit Raider Jonesy, which is available in the Event Store, and Miss Bunny Penny, given to players after completing the Spring It On storyline.
Save the World also receives Remote Explosives that can be remotely triggered. They can also detonate when damaged by another weapon. While they're useful for enemies and structures, they cannot harm objectives.
The Fortnite 3.4 update also takes away the energy cost of sprinting, and it increases the stack limit of Crafting Ingredients and Trap to 200.
General Updates
Fortnite cross-play on consoles also get some improvements. With the update, players can now manage their Epic friends from the main menu. The game also now allows sending, receiving, and responding to Party Invites.
Interestingly, Epic Games also removes the 30 fps mode from the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
"In v3.4 we made some significant GPU optimizations which improved visual quality, including resolution in 60 FPS mode, and we now feel there is very little reason to play at 30 FPS," the developer said.
As expected, the latest update also brings some tweaks to the performance and UI. The update also comes with a long list of bug fixes, which includes some for the mobile version as well. Fortnite mobile players can now use the Whisper and Party Text Chat features among other improvements.
Unfortunately, the Jetpack that was promised for previous updates is still nowhere to be seen. Epic Games has yet to provide an update.
