Ubisoft revealed the downloadable content that will be included in the Far Cry 5 season pass, and everything looks unique, wacky, and so much fun.
The Far Cry series has always been an over-the-top affair, and Ubisoft is not pulling the punches with Far Cry 5. In fact, the much-loved Far Cry 3 will even be included in the season pass as the re-released Far Cry 3: Classic Edition.
Far Cry 5 DLC: Zombies, Aliens, And Vietnam War
Far Cry 5, which has already generated controversy for its depiction of right-wing extremism in a small Montana town that has been taken over by the militia of a religious cult leader, will launch on March 27 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
The game is two months way, but Ubisoft has already provided details on the contents of the Far Cry 5 season pass. It includes three new adventures that will take players out of Montana, namely Dead Living Zombies, Hours of Darkness, and Lost on Mars.
In Dead Living Zombies, as the name implies, players will face hordes of zombies in various B-movie scenarios. In Hours of Darkness, players will time travel to the Vietnam War and face the Viet Cong. Lastly, in Lost on Mars, players will find themselves transported to Mars, where they need to fight aliens.
The price of the Far Cry 5 season pass was not yet revealed, though Ubisoft said that it will provide more details soon. However, the physical version of Far Cry 5 Gold Edition, which is being sold for $99.99, includes the season pass.
Far Cry 3: Classic Edition' Early Access
Far Cry 3 provided a huge boost to the popularity of the Far Cry series when it was first released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC in November 2012. Vaas, its villain, stole the show every time he was in the scene, and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon was a very memorable expansion.
Far Cry 5 season pass holders will get the chance to relive the experience or try it for the first time, as they will also receive Far Cry 3: Classic Edition. The remastered version of Far Cry 3 will go on sale this summer, and the Far Cry 5 season pass will serve as its early access ticket.
Far Cry 3: Classic Edition will not be available for PC players, though. Instead, season pass holders on the platform will receive the standard PC version of Far Cry 3.
Aside from the graphical upgrade, though, it is unclear if there are any other changes that Ubisoft made for Far Cry 3: Classic Edition from its original version.
