Sony has revealed the free PlayStation Plus games for December 2017, which are headlined by Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition and Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends.
In addition to the free games for December 2017, Sony also highlighted in a blog post a free PlayStation VR game, the upcoming Monster Hunter: World beta test, and a free add-on for PlayStation Plus members.
Free PlayStation Plus Games December 2017
The free PlayStation Plus games for December 2017 were revealed through a PlayStation Blog post, starting off with Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition and Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends for the PlayStation 4.
Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition, a remastered version of the 2012 original release that also includes all the game's DLC, places players in the role of Death while exploring massive dungeons and engaging in hack-and-slash combat. Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends, meanwhile, is a fighting game that bears certain similarities with Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. but with the popular Kung Fu Panda characters.
PlayStation Plus subscribers with the PlayStation 3, meanwhile, will be able to download Syberia Collection and Xblaze Lost: Memories for free. Syberia Collection, which includes both Syberia and Syberia 2, offer mysterious and cinematic adventures, while Xblaze Lost: Memories is a visual novel and dungeon crawler hybrid based on the BlazBlue fighting game franchise.
The PlayStation Vita, lastly, will also get two free games, namely action-adventure game Forma.8, a cross-buy with the PlayStation 4, and dual-stick arcade shooter Wanted Corp.
The new batch of free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers will be available for download starting Dec. 5, which means that players still have a few days to download the free PlayStation Plus games for November 2017.
What Else Is Waiting For PlayStation Plus Subscribers In December?
Players with PlayStation Plus subscriptions will continue to have access to Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, a survival horror arcade shooter for the PlayStation VR. The game was made free last month and will remain such until Jan. 2.
Sony also reminded PlayStation Plus members that they will be able to participate in the upcoming Monster Hunter: World beta from Dec. 9 to Dec. 12. The beta will have players explore the Ancient Forest to hunt for Great Jagras and an Anjanath and the Wildspire Waste in search of a Barroth.
PlayStation Plus subscribers who are playing Smite will also be able to download the Smite PlayStation Plus Pack for free in December. The package includes 31 skins, 20 gods, voice packs, and the Khepri Announcer pack for the free-to-play MOBA, and it will stay free from Dec. 12 to Jan. 9.
