It's official: The last DLC character of Street Fighter V for the second season will be none other than Zeku.
Capcom made the announcement via a reveal trailer shown during the South East Asia Major tourney held in Singapore.
Who Is Zeku?
Starting out as an unplayable character in the series, Zeku is the "ever-changing ninja" who used to be the teacher of Guy. Put differently, this is the first time he has become a playable character. Here's Capcom's backstory for him:
"First seen in Street Fighter Alpha 2, Zeku was Guy's former teacher, who taught him to master Bushinryu, a style of ninjutsu. Eventually, Guy was able to obtain the title of 39th Master of Bushinryu. Zeku then disappeared and was never seen again ... until now! Zeku has reappeared looking to start his own ninja group and find a new fighting style," Capcom says.
From the look of things, his moves are what players would expect to see from a ninja, such as disappearing and reappearing in battle. He stays true to his title with his somersaults and other acrobatic feats.
On an interesting note, he transitions from a younger version of himself to an older one during his special attack. He even has a ton of costumes in store, including one that looks like Strider Hiryu.
He is voiced by David Wald, known for his work as Tetsutetsu in My Hero Academia, while the Japanese version has Nobuo Tobita, known for his voice acting as Straizo from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
Seen Coming From A Mile Away
Zeku's arrival follows Abigail of Final Fight and the fortuneteller Menat, who was revealed in August. One thing the three have in common is that die-hard fans already more or less knew they were joining the Street Fighter V roster based on leaked silhouettes.
In other words, Zeku, Abigail, and Menat confirmed many of the players' early suspicions.
Wrap-up
Long story short, Zeku is the final character to be included in Street Fighter V for season 2, and this marks the first time that players can use the ever-changing ninja.
Zeku will be up for grabs on Oct. 24, and he'll hold players back by $6 or $30 as part of the season pass. For the record, Street Fighter V is available for the PlayStation 4 and the PC.
As for the season 3 DLC, there's still no word on a solid release date.
