Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition To Launch In December With All 4 DLC: Chris Redfield Will Be Back

The critically acclaimed Resident Evil 7 brings the franchise back to its horror roots, and for those who have not yet tried the game, Capcom will launch a Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition in December.

The Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition will include the base game and all four of the game's DLCs, two of which have not yet been released.

Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition Contents

In an official blog post, Capcom revealed that the Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition will launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Dec. 12. The special edition of the game includes the Banned Footage Vol. 1, Banned Footage Vol. 2, Not a Hero, and End of Zoe DLCs.

For those who were wondering, Not a Hero and End of Zoe have not yet been released. Only the first two Banned Footage DLCs are currently available and are part of the game's season pass.

The remainder of the article will discuss the two new DLCs, which will deal with content beyond the ending of Resident Evil 7. Minor spoilers are ahead.

Resident Evil 7: Not A Hero

The Resident Evil 7: Not a Hero DLC was first announced in February, and it will bring back Chris Redfield, a popular character in the Resident Evil franchise.

Redfield, one of the two playable characters in the original Resident Evil and present in many of the other games in the series, appeared at the end of Resident Evil 7. However, what is most surprising is that Redfield arrived riding on a helicopter owned by Umbrella Corporation, which is the company behind the virus that triggered the zombie outbreak in the Resident Evil series.

In Not a Hero, players will control Redfield as he explores the caverns below the Baker Mansion. New concept art released by Capcom for the DLC shows Redfield and an ally surrounded by Molded monsters. However, a closer look at the background reveals some sort of tunnel, or even a portal, raising theories that Resident Evil 7 will take a sci-fi turn.

Not a Hero was supposed to be released in the spring, but since it has been delayed so long, Capcom will release it for free to all Resident Evil 7 players.

Resident Evil 7: End Of Zoe

Also launching on Dec. 12 alongside the Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition and Not a Hero is End of Zoe, the fourth DLC of the game that takes place after the events of Resident Evil 7 and Not a Hero.

For the Resident Evil 7 good ending, Zoe was alive, but left standing at the docks after the death of Jack, her father. There was no mention of Zoe, so End of Zoe will likely show what happened to her.

End of Zoe will be sold for $14.99, but it will be free to download for season pass holders and included in the Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition.
