Minneapolis Man Confesses To Being Spider-Man In Brilliant Obituary

35-year-old Aaron Purmort died one week ago today after a long battle against brain cancer.

But this isn't a sad story. This is the story of a man with an unerringly positive outlook on life who took the time to write his own obituary before his death. The result is a write-up that's both touching and outright hilarious.

It was published Sunday in Minneapolis' StarTribune. Here's an excerpt:

...died peacefully at home on November 25 after complications from a radioactive spider bite that led to years of crime-fighting and a years long battle with a nefarious criminal named Cancer, who has plagued our society for far too long. Civilians will recognize him best as Spider-Man, and thank him for his many years of service protecting our city... He is survived by... his first wife Gwen Stefani, current wife Nora and their son Ralph, who will grow up to avenge his father's untimely death.

This man just won the obits. Everyone else need not bother.

Purmort's wife Nora has kept a blog that chronicles their journey together, and reading through it, it's clear that she's a talented writer. She describes her blog as, "It's not a cancer story, it's a love story. With some cancer."

Beyond her eloquent blog, the couple's story is already famous, thanks to local news coverage and an upcoming documentary about them called A&N. Here's the trailer.

If you'd like to help, a fundraising campaign has been set up by friends of the Purmort family, with 100% of the proceeds going toward helping pay the bills left behind by Aaron's extensive treatment.
