Celebrate 10 Years Of 'BioShock' With This $200 Collector's Edition And A 'Return To Rapture' Party

To celebrate 10 years of BioShock, 2K Games has planned a special collector's edition for the franchise's most hardcore fans, as well as a party at PAX West next month.

The BioShock franchise has earned a massive following since the first game in the series was launched 10 years ago, and 2K Games said that it will give back to the community with celebrations to stretch across the year.

BioShock 10th Anniversary Collector's Edition On GameStop, 2K Store

The first part of 2K Games' planned celebration is the BioShock 10th Anniversary Collector's Edition, a bundle exclusively available from GameStop and the 2K Store that is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gamers for $200.

The contents of the BioShock collector's edition include BioShock: The Collection, which is a compilation of the remastered versions of BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock: Infinite, along with all the downloadable content for the three titles.

The game, however, is not the main selling point of the $200 bundle. The BioShock 10th Anniversary Collector's Edition includes an 11.9-inch statue of Big Daddy and Little Sister from the original BioShock, with lights and sounds for both characters. The drill of Big Daddy is also motorized, making it a fitting representation of the one of the most iconic images in the franchise. The eyes of Little Sister glows, the reason for which is a crucial plot point in the game that affects its ending.

Preorders for the BioShock 10th Anniversary Collector's Edition are already open, with the release date set for Nov. 14. Gamers who have not yet purchased BioShock: The Collection can also pick up the bundle of remasters at a reduced price of only $30.

BioShock Party At PAX West: Return To Rapture

In addition to the BioShock 10th Anniversary Collector's Edition, 2K Games has planned a BioShock party at PAX West, which will be held from 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. PT at The Great Hall in Union Station, Seattle and hosted by IGN.

"Join us as we bring Rapture to life like never before, complete with Splicers, Big Daddies and Little Sisters, themed food and drinks worthy of Rapture's finest hotspots, plus music from DJ Kristina Childs," 2K Games said in its blog post. The party will also host a BioShock Cosplay Contest that will offer amazing prizes to the winners.

BioShock fans will not need a ticket to PAX West to attend the party, as it will be open to the public.

New 'BioShock' YouTube Channel

As part of the celebration, 2K Games has launched a new YouTube channel for BioShock, with classic trailers, fan videos, and other BioShock-related content to arrive over the coming months.

Could 2K Games also upload a trailer for a new BioShock game in the channel soon? Fans of the franchise are definitely hoping for it, especially as publisher Take-Two Interactive said about two years ago that BioShock is "a permanent franchise."
