The Pokémon Company just dropped a new trailer for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, sequels to last year's Sun and Moon for the Nintendo 3DS, out November.
There's so much to parse down and talk about. The trailer contains bits and pieces that hint at the many changes this year's iterations have over Sun and Moon. At first it seemed that Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon only feature a new story along with slight changes to Pokémon forms, but it's actually more than that, as you can see from what the trailer partially reveals.
'Pokémon Ultra Sun' And 'Ultra Moon': Exclusive Z-Moves
Z-Moves, or special power moves introduced in Sun and Moon, are coming back, and there'll be new ones exclusive to both Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. This includes Kommo-o's Clangorous Soulblaze Z-Move, which lets out a powerful blast that raises his stats after using.
'Pokémon Ultra Sun' And 'Ultra Moon': Photo Club Looks Adorable
There's a new schtick in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon called Alola Photo Club, which basically lets trainers pose with their Pokémon for some nice portraits. As seen on the gameplay video by Game Informer, the Photo Club includes stickers, different backdrops, clothes, and different poses for Pokémon.
There'll be quite a bunch of accessories to choose from, including moustaches, ribbons, and all sorts of wacky things, but not everything will be unlocked at the outset, though, implying that there'll be different tasks to accomplish if you want to unlock everything.
'Pokémon Ultra Sun' And 'Ultra Moon': Necrozma
According to the new lore, it seems the games will center around a Pokémon called Necrozma, in addition to last year's legendaries Solgaleo and Lunala. There will also be new information regarding the region of Alola, although it's uncertain whether this relates to Necrozma.
"Ominous dark clouds begin to spread and the secrets of Necrozma and the Alola region, which were never disclosed in the previous games, will finally come to light," reads the description.
'Pokémon Ultra Sun' And 'Ultra Moon': Pokémon Can Walk Now?
Of all things gamers love about Pokémon games, a Pokémon following you around probably tops the list. Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver did this, but it was never since since. Could it return in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon?
There's a brief moment in the trailer where you can see a Pokémon following the trailer around, which seems to suggest that the beloved feature is coming back. That said, it could be just a cutscene or a special incident, so don't get your hopes up.
Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will feature updated looks for the male and female trainers, and a new Dusk Form Lycanroc, among others. Both games will launch on Nov. 17.
