After months of secrecy and teases, we finally have a release date for the first episode of Telltale's six-part Game of Thrones saga, and things don't look good for House Forrester.
The game takes place during season four of HBO's hit show. A noble family loyal to House Stark, House Forrester is put in a whole heap of trouble after Roose Bolton and his bastard son, Ramsay Snow, rise to power in the north. Even worse is the long and heated rivalry between House Forrester and House Whitehill, who are bannermen of the Boltons and are no doubt looking to increase their level of power and prestige by removing the Forresters from the equation.
Judging from this launch trailer, it doesn't look like the differences between these various noble houses will be settled peacefully, as swords will be drawn and blood will be spilled. The game's launch trailer also features a number of familiar faces -- Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister, Lena Headey as Cersei Baratheon and Natalie Dormer as Margaery Tyrell -- each interacting with one member of House Forrester in particular, Mira, who lives in Kings Landing as a handmaiden to Margaery.
Telltale previously released the names and short bios on many of the game's characters. However, the developer has yet to reveal who the game's five playable characters will be, though the developer says they will all be members of House Forrester.
Curious fans won't have to wait long to find out. The first episode "Iron From Ice" releases on Dec. 2 for PlayStation 4 and PC players, with Xbox players getting the game on Dec. 3. Those playing on iOS devices will be able to play on Dec. 4, and PlayStation 3 players can download the game on Dec. 9.
