Ubisoft's 'Assassin's Creed: Unity' may have been released too early which have caused players to experience several issues while on a gameplay. It has become so unplayable that Ubisoft was prompted to make recommendations on its official blog site. These would include asking players to disconnect from the Internet in order for them to play the game and to turn off the game's social features.
The issue deals with the game's tendency to crash at the main menu wherein developers have so far discovered the causes for such occurrence. They also learned that the crash would be initiated as soon as the player presses the continue button. The issue is said to span across all platforms.
"The team is working hard on a fix for those players that have been affected by this," said Ubisoft in its official blog. The site has been plagued with numerous posts related to patches, fixes, and work-arounds. Ubisoft added that it is working hard to address the issue.
This is not the first time that a game title became involved with bug fixes and a clamor for recall. Some of the titles that in one way or another has been entangled with issues, similar or even worse, would include Rockstar's 'Grand Theft Auto,' Nintendo's 'Mario Party 8,' and 'Final Fantasy XIV MMO.'
For the past few years, there have been a number of launch-related disasters that have plagued the video game industry. The list includes 'Battlefield 4' and 'SimCity.' Now, the 'Assassin's Creed's buggy game release earns for it a seat in the gaming companies' ride towards releasing a game on schedule as its primary destination instead of reaching the crucial point of creating a finished and 'bug-free' product.
"Unfortunately, Ubisoft seems to have had some issues adapting the series to current-gen systems," said Chris Carter of Destructoid. "I encountered a number of nasty glitches on the Xbox One."
Carter added that the most common issues revolve around constant repeating of dialogs, animations in close-combat, freezing while the character climbs tall structures, and falling through floor even at the beginning of a mission.
Ubisoft's solution to the issue seemed to focus solely on the player's game contact. It advises players not to add any in-game recent player in their contacts.
"If you already have game contacts, perform the following to remove them: My Brotherhood > My Contacts > Game Contacts > Focus on a Contact > More Actions > Remove from contacts. If you are still experiencing a crash at the main menu even after the above steps, then please file a ticket at support.ubi.com," said Ubisoft.
