The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) has been leaking extensively and the latest images reveal a design change, as well as several color options.
It's been almost a year since Samsung launched its last Galaxy J7 model and a new iteration is expected to debut soon enough. Samsung unveiled its Galaxy J7 (2016) in June last year, which means that if the company follows a yearly launch cycle we should see the Galaxy J7 (2017) as soon as next month.
Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) Design Leak
Frequent tipster Roland Quandt posted a new image of the purported Galaxy J7 (2017) on Twitter, showing several color options and an intriguing design change that strays from the previous version.
German publication WinFuture posted images of the Galaxy J7 (2017) as well and it's the same design, which also falls in line with previous leaks. This is likely the final design of the smartphone before it hits the market, likely sometime in the next few weeks.
From the front side, the smartphone doesn't look much different from other Samsung handsets. The front side actually looks very familiar, complete with the physical home button below the display like on so many other Samsung smartphones.
On the rear of the device, however, things get different. Based on the latest leaks, it seems that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) will have the antenna lines incorporated into its rear case at the top and bottom, setting itself apart from other Samsung Galaxy handsets.
The rear camera also seems to have a different setup, with the LED flash apparently located below the camera. The leaked images also show the Samsung brand on both the front and back of the smartphone, albeit that's not all that surprising.
The right side of the handset features the power/lock button, while the left side houses the volume rocker. The photos also show separate microSD and SIM card slots, both located on the left side of the device.
The smartphone sports a metal design and will apparently be available in four color options: Black, Blue, Gold, and Pink.
Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) Rumored Specs
The upcoming Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) will join the midrange segment of the smartphone market, likely sporting decent specifications but nothing out of the ordinary.
The handset is expected to feature a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED full HD display (1,920 x 1,080 pixels), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor or an Exynos 7870 processor, 3 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of native storage space.
Other rumored specs include a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and an f/1.7 aperture, a 13-megapixel front shooter with an f/1.9 aperture, a 3,600 mAh battery, cat. 6 LTE, and Android Nougat on board out of the box.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) is expected to launch on AT&T in the United States, and the rumored specifications indicate that it should come at an affordable price point. The smartphone is also rumored to hit Verizon as the Galaxy J7 V.
Samsung has yet to make an official announcement, however, so it's best to take all leaks and rumors with a grain of salt for now. As always, we'll keep you up to date when more information becomes available.
