New Moto Z2 Force Leak Reveals Dual Cameras, Huge Camera Bump, Headphone Jack, And More

Another set of Moto Z2 Force images has leaked, revealing key aesthetic details of the forthcoming flagship. The just-outed renders tie in with previously released ones, particularly with the dual camera setup.

New Moto Z2 Force Renders Leaked

However, since the new leak features a 360-degree view of the handset, we can now see that the Moto Z2 Force's camera bump is more pronounced. The previous look only gave a flat 2D view of the handset, making the camera bump less conspicuous.

The exclusive leaks come from OnLeaks, in collaboration with Android Authority. The images confirm that the phone is pretty much aesthetically similar to last year's model, although such a similarity might stem from the need to keep Moto Mods support universal. That said, there are still some changes that are noticeable, even if you only give the 360-degree view a once-over.

Motorola Resurrects The Headphone Jack

For instance, Motorola has apparently decided to bring back the 3.5mm headphone jack, as the port was absent from last year's model. It's a good move for the Lenovo-owned company, especially since the lack of such a port has been met with such controversy.

Apple first kicked this headphone jack-less port trend into high gear, shunning the port altogether with the release of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Few phone manufacturers have followed suit, excluding Samsung, since its latest flagships still have it.

Another thing worth noting is the design of the Moto Z2 Force, which looks to be a good mesh of last year's model and the Moto G5 and G5 Plus. A thin band loops the length of the phone's frame, which speculations suggest is for better radio signals.

Moto Z2 Force Dual Cameras And Camera Bump

On the back are the dual camera setup and the Moto Mod connectors. The camera bump is something you can't ignore, but also consider that such a bump serves a purpose: it is also an alignment point for Moto Mod accessories. Snap one on and the bump won't be there at all.

As for the cameras themselves, it's unclear whether Motorola will take the iPhone 7 Plus route and make the other camera a wide-angle one or if it'll mimic Huawei, which pairs a monochrome sensor and an RGB sensor together.

On the bottom of the device is a USB Type-C port, which isn't surprising, as last year's model also came with it.

In terms of internals, details are pretty slim as of now, but reports suggest that Sprint will bring Cat. 16-speed downloads to the Moto Z2 Force, which might signal that a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip is a shoo-in.

Moto Z2 Force Unveiling

Motorola is expected to unveil the Moto Z2 Force soon. The Moto Z was announced in June - if Motorola follows a similar trajectory, the company will unveil the handset in two months, more or less.
