Titanfall 2 DLC Colony Reborn is rolling out, and the best part is that it's available free of charge for all players, going live along with a trial weekend to boot.
While the add-on is primarily made up of free content, there are some paid ones in the mix too, notably some new Titan skins and camos. Arguably the biggest component included is the new — or rather, improved — map, though.
Free Content In Colony Reborn
First and foremost, Respawn Entertainment is revamping Colony, a map that appeared in the original Titanfall, and throwing it in the DLC Colony Reborn, which has a pretty self-explanatory name considering this piece of content.
"This classic should be familiar to long time Titanfall fans. Set among a sleepy settler town, the dense center is filled with narrow streets, interiors, and rooftops surrounded by open Titan lanes," the developer says.
Also from the first game, the new weapon R-101 rifle is coming in with an improvement in tow — an ACOG scope.
"Universally well regarded for its unique versatility, the R-101 platform has been a mainstay of human conflict since the first settlers arrived from the Core Systems. This version is outfitted with ACOG scope," the DLC notes read.
Last but not least, Respawn Entertainment is adding in a new execution animation called Curb Check.
Paid Content In Colony Reborn
As for the paid content in Colony Reborn, there are a lot in store, and they're out to provide customization options and make players look good since they're cosmetic items, after all.
To start things off, the add-on is packed with not one but two Titan skins named Northstar and Legion.
Regarding the rest, Colony Reborn is bringing 20 camos, 20 banners, and 20 patches along with 5 new Titan Art Nose Art designs and 1 new Warpaint for each Titan.
Free Trial Weekend
To kick things off with a bang, Colony Reborn is launching with a free trial weekend that's set for March 30 until April 3, and that includes access to the complete multiplayer suite, as well as the Training Gauntlet mission and the first single-player mission The Beacon. The two missions "will remain free to play in perpetuity," according to Respawn Entertainment.
That's not all either, as the developer is also doubling the XP during it, giving newcomers and players who left the game an opportunity to catch up.
Back in June 2016, Respawn Entertainment promised to make all Titanfall 2 DLC content free, and as evidence of following through with that so far, there's the Angel City's Most Wanted add-on, the gameplay mode Live Fire, and now Colony Reborn.
Colony Reborn is scheduled to become available on March 30.
