Setting a record is never easy, and that applies to games too. It's not impossible, though, and this is evidenced by a The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild player.
In the video posted below, the player can be seen traveling the skies of Hyrule for about 4.7 miles and more than 20 minutes straight. While a feat like that isn't unheard of, this instance is the longest distance that Link has ever flown in one go.
Paragliding Across Hyrule In 'Breath Of The Wild'
To be clear, the challenge is how far someone can paraglide from the Ridgeland Tower, and for this particular player, they needed to not only make the most of potions that restore stamina but also Bomb Arrows and bows.
Put simply, the Japanese YouTuber would shoot a Bomb Arrow at a grassy area in front of them whenever they came too close to the ground. This will make a fire and create an updraft, which they would then use to increase altitude.
Of course, they need to carry a ton of Bomb Arrows and enough bows to stay in the air.
As for the stamina problem, the player will just use one of the potions every time Link is about to run out of energy.

That's pretty much it, and while it may sound easy, it's not exactly something anyone can do without making a mistake.

The 'Breath Of The Wild' Paragliding Challenge
This isn't the first time that Link flew far above Hyrule with a such a long airtime, as this challenge started to pick up on Reddit when the very same Japanese Breath of the Wild player uploaded a video of them traveling about 4.08 miles.
Needless to say, other players are probably trying the record now, using Bomb Arrow after Bomb Arrow, stamina elixir after stamina elixir, and bow after bow and leaving a burning path across the fields of Hyrule.
Other Challenges In 'Breath Of The Wild': Speedrunning
Paragliding isn't the only hot challenge, and just like in many other games, speedrunners are up and about in Breath of the Wild.
On March 11, Venick409 completed the game in just 54 minutes and 5 seconds, but recently, a player who goes by the name of sva161620 finished it in 47 minutes and 59 seconds, breaking the record.
To boil things down, the challenge of setting the longest distance traveled by paragliding is on, and who knows, someone may soon upload a video of them beating the current record.
