T-Mobile Offers Complimentary AppleCare+ Benefits For Some Users: What You Need To Know

T-Mobile is now offering complimentary AppleCare+ perks for customers who sign up for its Premium Device Protection plan or those who upgrade to JUMP!

For those unfamiliar with the service, AppleCare+ is Apple's extended warranty service for iPhone and iPad, offering a number of benefits to in case something goes wrong with the device.

T-Mobile's new offer notes that it's including complimentary AppleCare service with JUMP! or its Premium Device Protection plan, but the features listed are actually the same as those for the premium AppleCare+. Here's everything you need to know about T-Mobile's AppleCare+ perks.

T-Mobile JUMP! Or Premium Device Protection With AppleCare+

JUMP! costs $12 per month and allows users to upgrade to a new device whenever they want, albeit with a limit per year. When users want to upgrade, they just have to turn in their current device and the carrier will cover half of the remaining balance for the new device.

T-Mobile JUMP! also comes with Premium Device Protection, Lookout Mobile Security Premium, as well as AppleCare services. As Apple-centric publication 9to5Mac first reported, T-Mobile's dedicated webpage now shows that its two premium JUMP! plans now include AppleCare+ benefits for those with a new eligible device.

T-Mobile AppleCare+ Perks: What's Included

AppleCare+ alone requires a notable investment of $129 per year, so this new option is a pretty great offer for T-Mobile clients.

The AppleCare+ perks T-Mobile includes for customers on JUMP! or Premium Device Protection include non-stop, 24/7 priority access to AppleCare technical support via phone or chat, cheaper service such as $29 for iPhone display repair, free battery service, hardware service with original Apple parts, Apple-certified repair or replacement at either Apple Store locations or at Apple Authorized Service Providers, software support including for iCloud, iOS and Apple's own iOS apps, and more. Customers can take advantage of two claims within a year.

Simply put, while T-Mobile's page only notes AppleCare Services instead of specifically listing AppleCare+, the benefits are the same. The regular AppleCare doesn't feature the low $29 screen damage or $0 cost for battery service, but AppleCare+ does.

Considering the hefty investment involved when purchasing an iPhone, having extra device protection for a longer period goes a long way. Complimentary AppleCare+ services were considered among the top differentiators for Apple's own iPhone upgrade program as opposed to T-Mobile JUMP! and other such programs from other carriers, but this new change could make JUMP! substantially more attractive to prospective customers.

Apple typically offers AppleCare+ as an additional option aside from the one year of hardware repair coverage and 90 days of regular AppleCare support included with each Apple device purchase. Adding AppleCare+ protection for an iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, or iPhone 7 Plus costs $129 per year, or $99 for the iPhone SE.

With T-Mobile's latest AppleCare+ perks, other carriers could follow suit and come up with their own options to sweeten the deal for Apple fans. Will you be taking advantage of this new T-Mobile option? Let us know in the comments section below.
