Heartbreak, denial, and anger. These are just some of the things that we feel when our favorite shows get canceled.
What's even more heart breaking is when shows get canceled right after season one, before they even had the time to prove themselves further.
With the many incredible shows of late, you may have been holding your breath for your favorite show's fate. Well, breathe easy because here are some of the most popular shows that have just been renewed for a sophomore season.
Atlanta (FX)
Actor, musician, producer, and more recently Golden Globe winner Donald Glover created and starred in the highest rated comedy series in FX history. Atlanta follows the story of two cousins with their minds set on making a mark in Atlanta's music scene.
Though the show has officially been renewed for a second season, it won't air until 2018 due to the fact that its creator and lead star is also set to play a young Lando Calrissian in the standalone Han Solo Movie.
This Is Us (NBC)
NBC's This Is Us is not your typical comedy-drama. Following the lives of three siblings through the different time period of their lives, it explores the different aspects of the human condition such as obesity, family, and more recently (and heartbreakingly) death. The show stars Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia.
Goliath (Amazon)
Goliath is Amazon's most binged TV series. That may give a clue as to why the drama has been already renewed for a second season. It follows the story of a lawyer that's been removed from his old firm and the discovery that he makes about one of their biggest clients. The show stars Billy Bob Thornton, who won a Golden Globe for Best Actor - Television Series Drama for his leading role in the series, and Maria Bello.
Lethal Weapon (Fox)
Yes, this is a reboot of Danny Glover and Mel Gibson's iconic movie series. Lethal Weapon starred Damon Wayans and Clayne Crawford, and was premiered in September to mixed audience reviews. If you didn't get a chance to watch the first season, you may still want to catch a glimpse of the praised chemistry between Wayans and Crawford because it, too, is set to be renewed for a full second season.
StartUp (Crackle)
StartUp, is Crackle's player in the streaming service battle and it's doing pretty well. Aside from being renewed for a second season, it was also the service's most watched show when it came out. It's a drama that follows three strangers, who eventually come up with a digital currency, and the crooked FBI agent they get entangled with. Sherlock's Martin Freeman plays the said crooked FBI agent, which is a slight deviation from the usually upbeat and comical roles that we are used to seeing him play. StartUp also stars Adam Brody, Otmara Marrero and Edi Gathegi.
Honorable Mention:
Stranger Things (Netflix)
There is a huge chance you already know that Stranger Things has already been renewed for a second season. In fact there's already a trailer and a release date for the sophomore season of the Netflix phenomenal series. If you missed it, then here's your chance to see the trailer for season 2.
