If you are a fan of iPhone with a limited budget on your hands, then gear up for the new iPhone SE which is likely to be launched in March. The rumored smartphone is likely to be updated with an increased internal storage of 128 GB.
The rumors originated when U.S. retailer Target and carrier Sprint were instructed to return the iPhone SE models. The Target stores have reportedly received a memo ordering it to return the smartphone.
Reports reveal that six unlocked 16 GB and 64 GB variants of the iPhone SE of in gold, silver, rose gold and space gray were returned to Apple from Target stores along with two Sprint-bound iPhone SE handsets.
The clearance of iPhone SE's inventory could be prompted by slowing sales or any other reason. However, the move coincides closely with the Apple's March event, hinting the release of new iPhone SE. An anonymous Target employee also stated that the store did not receive any stock of the iPhone SE since the iPhone 7 line up was launched in September 2016.
New iPhone SE
In March 2016, Apple made a surprising move by launching the iPhone SE series. The cheaper variant of iPhone came with a 4-inch screen and had a support of recording 4K videos. Even though it supported most of the modern iPhone features, it lacked two important ones such as 3D touch and a new-generation Touch ID sensor.
The latest rumors suggest that the new iPhone SE is likely to be in correspondence with the modern iPhones in terms of storage. The existing 16 GB and 64 GB smartphone options may get updated to 32 GB and 128 GB. However, rumors do not hint at any other hardware changes in the new iPhone SE and Apple too has also not confirmed the release of a 128 GB variant.
This refreshed model of iPhone SE with doubled internal storage will certainly appeal to the fans of 4-inch or smaller displays.
Apple's rumored March event will not focus only on the new iPhone SE, but may also see the arrival of the new 10.5-inch iPad Pro 2 and a new red color variant of iPhone 7.
Release Date And Price
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, a KGI securities analyst, the second-generation iPhone SE model is not likely to be released in the first half of 2017. The iPhone SE 2016 was launched in March at an initial price of $399 for the 16 GB variant and $500 for the 64 GB model. However, there has been no concrete word on the pricing of the new rumored iPhone SE 128 GB variant.
