Dragon Age: Inquisition is a game filled with fantasy and adventure that brings players across the vast landscapes of Thedas. Developed by BioWare, the upcoming game is everything that a player would want in a sequel to Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2. Moreover, its plot is more engrossing and more world-changing compared to the earlier games.
The game begins in the village of Haven. The head of the Chantry, which is the main religious organization in the world, is trying to negotiate peace between the opposing Templars and mages. A dangerous and growing vortex threatens to invade the world, heightened by the fact that the Temple of Sacred Ashes has been destroyed. At this point, the player realizes that he's the only survivor. His identity and reason for his presence at peace talks depends on the type of character he creates.
The player has four races to choose from: dwarf, human, hulking grey Qunari or elf. Whatever he chooses, the special dialogue options would always be based on the character's history and culture. It would not have any effect on the setup.
"Dragon Age: Inquisition is a Schrodinger's Goldilocks kind of a game: too big and just right at the same time," said Venturebeat, which scored the game 87 over 100. "The game is a worthy addition to a spectacular Western RPG franchise."
Polygon reviewed the game's PlayStation 4 copy from Electronic Arts. Other versions, such as the PC and Xbox One versions, were also tested. "Dragon Age: Inquisition puts the fate of the world in your hands in a way that few role-playing games have done before," claimed Polygon, which gave out the score of 9.5. In the company's review scale, even games that are scored under the nines are fantastic games.
"Inquisition does come together into a very worthy Dragon Age sequel that never stopped being compelling once it had the chance to build up its momentum," said Eurogamer. The game earned a score of 8 over 10. According to Eurogamer's review policy, 10 is the highest score possible.
Joystiq gave five stars to the game, which means that the game is definitely worth one's time.
"Dragon Age: Inquisition is BioWare's reaffirmation of what it's capable of delivering. It's a gorgeous game on an epic scale. Rich in character and story, it creates a fantasy world with plausible social rules you can get lost in. It makes you feel that you aren't just exploring a new world, but helping shape it at various levels of society. Inquisition sets the bar for what a blockbuster RPG should be," said Joystiq.
