The heroes of the Overwatch organization have been turned into cats and one dog yet again, and as expected, the whole shindig fits right in among the viral videos of the interweb.
Just to be clear of what we mean by "again," a clip featuring feline versions of Overwatch characters already made rounds back in January. Back then, it starred offensive heroes, and this time, it's all about the tanks.
'Overwatch' Cats: Meet The Tanks
Created by YouTube user dillongoo, "Katsuwatch" is a series of Highlight Intros. For those who don't know, it's the scene that plays on everybody's screens before a match's Play of the Game.
As mentioned earlier, the second video focuses on the tank heroes, and that means the animalized characters include Zarnya, Felinehardt, KI.T, and Streetcat. In other words, that's Zarya, Reinhardt, D.Va, and Roadhog respectively.
That's not all either, as Winston has been turned into a dog named Woofston.
Hit up the video below and get ready for "Katsuwatch" in all its glory:
To get a better look at how closely dillongoo got the cat-ified versions of the Highlight Intros down, here's the comparison video that runs the original side-by-side with the recreations:
The First 'Katsuwatch'
Almost every Overwatch fan may have already caught wind of the first "Katsuwatch," but for the ones who haven't, here it is:
This clip features the offensive heroes Furrah, MeowCree, Chaser, Clawmbra, Reapurr, Whisker: 76, and Kittenji. Needless to say, that's Pharah, McCree, Tracer, Sombra, Reaper, Soldier: 76, and Genji respectively.
Now, like the second "Katsuwatch" above, this one also has a comparison video that puts the cat version side-by-side with the real thing:
Some More 'Overwatch' News
Recently, a hint of the new character Doomfist caused quite a stir in the Overwatch community, and as if that weren't enough, Game Director Jeffrey Kaplan agitated the pot even more when he responded to a Blizzard forum user, who jokingly urged him to list down the heroes the development team is working on.
"24 is not who you think it is," he replied.
Long story short, it looks like Doomfist is on the back burner for now, but this could just be Kaplan's way to throw the players off the scent.
Another bit worth mentioning is how Bastion became virtually unkillable after the gentle-natured robot was buffed in the PTR or Public Test Realm. It's interesting to see how he transitioned from being one of the least picked heroes to one of the most powerful ones.
Recap
Long story short, some of the most fearsome and awesome heroes in Overwatch have been made into cats thanks to dillongoo.
Fortunately, Overwatch cats are really "meow" a thing, and it's probably safe to assume that a "KatsuWatch" featuring support and defense heroes are going to see the light of day sometime in the future — fingers crossed for that.
