As was previously reported, iPhone 8's launch stands to be the biggest yet for the range. Now that much-touted event could come a bit early as well based on rumors that claim how Apple will start the handsets' production earlier than expected. We are counting months, to be exact.
June Production
This intel came from a report released by BlueFin Research claiming that the iPhone 8 production will reach fever pitch sometime in June.
"Interestingly, our present reads suggest a 300% increase in iPhone 8/X builds in the June quarter, now sitting at 9M," the firm stated. "As a result, overall June quarter builds have increased from 45M to 48M, with the sharp increase in iPhone 8 offset somewhat by modest declines in legacy models."
In the Apple production cycle, the actual manufacture of the iPhone devices are said to start in September, so the discrepancy is indeed quite remarkable.
Early Release vs. High Demand Expectation
Now, BlueFin Research disputes the fact that the early production means an early iPhone release. There is no word explaining why this is the case. So there is a sliver of hope for enthusiasts here that Apple will unleash its greatest iPhone yet earlier.
One should remember that the iPhone will celebrate its 10th anniversary on June 29, the day it officially went on sale back in 2007.
On the other hand, if BlueFin Research is correct that Apple will follow the cadence of its previous releases, then the early production schedule could only mean one thing: the Cupertino company wants to make more iPhone 8 units.
There are also some sources who are speculating how early production will let Apple iron out snags and kinks to the hardware to avoid Samsung's mistake with the Galaxy Note 7. This is also a legitimate variable, and most importantly, it reinforces the expected drastic hardware changes that Apple would be implementing in the iPhone 8.
The production increase, however, is aligned with recent official reports so far, particularly that about Tim Cook professing a high level of enthusiasm before investors for the device's market prospects. This in itself is interesting because iPhone sales performance seems to be following a declining trend.
iPhone 8 Rumors
If you have not heard about iPhone 8 rumors, tipsters revealed that it will likely be waterproof and sport an even better dual camera module to take on the challenge posed by the likes of the Google Pixel 2 and the Galaxy S8.
There are those who are also expecting a 4K OLED screen, an all-glass body that features dual-curved display, and a Snapdragon X16 LTE chip. It is not yet clear whether the Snapdragon modem would push through given the current legal tussle happening between Apple and Qualcomm.
