Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Specs, Features And Release Date Rumors: Everything We Know About The Tablet

The countdown for Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 has already started and tech enthusiasts around the world are waiting with bated breath to witness the launch of new gadgets.

Samsung is rumored to be taking the wraps off its Galaxt Tab s3, the successor of the Galaxy Tab S2, at its press event.

Here's a look at the rumored specifications and features of the Galaxy Tab S3.

Display

Early rumors suggested that the tablet may be launched in two variants an 8-inch model and 9.7 -inch model similar to its predecessor Galaxy Tab S2.

The rumors also hint that the device sport an AMOLED display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. However, in January, the Galaxy Tab S3 was spotted on GFXBench. The listing refuted earlier rumors and revealed that the upcoming Samsung tablet would sport a 9.6-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels.

Processor And RAM

There have been too many rumors till date regarding the processor and RAM of the Galaxy Tab S3 and each rumor contradicts the other.

In 2016, rumors stated that the upcoming Samsung tablet would house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset and would come with 3 GB of RAM.

However, a leak in January hinted at 3 GB of RAM as well, but suggested that Samsung may house either an Exynos 8890 chipset or Snapdragon 820 chipset in the tablet.

This was followed by another leak courtesy Weibo which shared that Samsung is expected to use an Exynos processor for sure, but it would be Exynos 7420 instead of Exynos 8890 and the RAM would be 4 GB.

The latest leak, on the other hand, suggests that Samsung may deploy the Snapdragon 820 chipset and 4 GB of RAM.

Storage

Rumors have maintained consistency when it comes to storage. All rumors till date indicate that the tablet would come with 32 GB of internal storage, which is expandable to an additional128 GB. However, the some leaks suggest that the expandable memory could go up to 256 GB.

Camera

Initial rumors pertaining to the Galaxy Tab S3's camera stated that the rear camera would be an 8MP one, whereas the front camera would be 2MP.

However, latest rumors point to the Galaxy Tab S3 sporting a 12MP rear camera with autofocus and the front camera may be 5MP. The rumor also suggests that both the cameras may support Full HD video recording.

Battery

Given that previous rumors suggested that Galaxy Tab S3 would come in two variants, the battery capacity was also suggested to be different for the two versions.

Leaks and rumors in 2016 suggested that the 8-inch model would run on a 4,000 mAh battery and the 9.7-model would house a 5,870 mAh battery similar to Galaxy Tab S2. As the recent rumors suggested that the upcoming device would come with come in one screen size only, fans would be hoping that the tablet carries the 5,870 mAh battery or something more powerful.

Operating System

The GFXBench listing states that the Galaxy Tab S3 may come pre-loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat much to the excitement of fans.

Additional Features

The Galaxy Tab S3 may come with an S Pen as a part of the bundle. Unlike the previous Samsung tablets, the Galaxy Tab S3 would not have storage space for the stylus in its body.

Rumors from also suggest that the impending Samsung tablet may come with a fingerprint sensor.

Release And Price

The Galaxy Tab S3 has already been cleared by FCC and has also received its Bluetooth and Wi-Fi certifications

Samsung recently sent out the press invites for its MWC event slated for Feb. 26. The Galaxy Tab S3 will likely be introduced at the event, especially suggested by the illustration of a mysterious tablet on the invitation.

The pricing of the tablet is not known, but it will likely make its way to the U.S. shelves soon after the announcement.
