Samsung may not be debuting the Galaxy S8 flagship - the successor of the Galaxy S7 - at the MWC 2017, but that has not stopped the rumor mill from spinning more details on the impending device.
The much-awaited Galaxy S8's specs and features have been leaking online frequently and now as the handset's release draws nearer, details on the storage options and pricing of the impending smartphone are emerging online.
The latest rumor doing the rounds is that Galaxy S8 that will release in home country South Korea and China will get 6 GB of RAM and not 4 GB of RAM. Moreover, consumers in Asia will be able to choose between the 64 GB and 128 GB storage options for the smartphone.
The news has been leaked by the same person who a few days ago revealed that the Galaxy S8 will offer 6 GB of RAM, as well as 128 GB of on-board storage. The leakster once again took to Twitter to make known the details.
The availability of the different Galaxy S8 variants specific to certain regions is not the only thing that has leaked, as reports also shed light on the alleged pricing for the smartphone
Samsung Galaxy S8 Price
The Samsung smartphone will reportedly cost CNY 6088 which is approximately $885. This pricing is for the 64 GB variant of the handset. The 128 GB version will supposedly be priced at CNY 6488, which is nearly $943.Both these variants will offer 6 GB of RAM and be available in select Asian countries.
However, a third option of the Galaxy S8 deploying 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage will make its way to the U.S. and Europe. The pricing for this model is not known, but older leaks have hinted at €850 (approximately $916).
The Galaxy S7 edge with its curved display was priced at $799 at launch and the Galaxy S8 which is also rumored to sport a dual-edge screen may take the same route. Rumors hint at the possibility of the device starting at $849. However, reports have suggested that the 128 GB variant of the Galayx S8 may not make its way to U.S. shores. This news is not surprising as even though the Galaxy S7 was available in 64 GB, this option was not available in the U.S. and consumers had to contend with the 32 GB variant.
Any Other New Features?
According to a leak - from the same leakster who shared the prices of the device - the Galaxy S8 will come equipped with Dual ADC support for its camera, which will likely result in better color depth.
