Bethesda announced the release of the biggest expansion for its long-running franchise The Elder Scrolls Online. The expansion is called The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind.
Developer ZeniMax Online Studios said the expansion for the MMO is the biggest geographical addition to the game and will contain 30 more hours of play time.
The expansion is scheduled for release on June 6, 2017 on PC, Mac, Xbox One, and PS4. The Morrowind expansion update will fetch for $39.99. The Standard Edition (main game plus expansion) will cost $59.99.
New Area, Vvardenfell
In the expansion's official announcement, the game enjoins the players to save the fate of Morrowind. They must get their gears ready and join the cause in helping the warrior-poet and hero Vivec. They must save him in order to save the world from the Daedric threat.
It means the player's main mission is to heal the god Vivec and help him regain his strength. Players will be able to explore the new island of Vvardenfell, the iconic place that was the setting for the Morrowind saga 700 years after. Players can freely roam this vast lands, the biggest landmass to date.
New Player Class: Warden
Moreover, a new player class called Warden was announced. This new class can wield nature-based magic and will fight alongside his War Bear companion. Like most classes, this new one will be fully customizable to fit the player's game style. This will be the first new class to be added since the game's launch in 2014.
New Trial And PVP Mode: Different Editions
Morrowind will also introduce a new Trial and PVP Mode. The player can enter the Telvanni Tower of Tel Fyr with his party of strong allies. Together, they can conquer the Halls of Fabrication. They can also discover the secrets of Clockwork City in a 12-player trial.
The player can also engage in 4v4v4 battles against other players. The setting will be an arena-like area where parties can engage in a strategic free-for-all.
"These highly competitive fast-paced matches will feature your choice in a variety of game types across three different maps," ZeniMax writes.
Four editions of Morrowind will be available: the Standard edition; the Upgrade edition; the Digital Collector's edition; and a physical Collector's edition.
