Best Buy kicked off an attractive sale for the Verizon-exclusive Moto Z Droid, now offering the smartphone at just $4.99 per month for 24 months.
To highlight the extent of this discount, it's worth pointing out that Verizon is currently selling the Moto Z Droid for $10 per month for 24 months. Otherwise, the handset regularly costs $624.
Best Buy's deal for the Moto Z Droid at $4.99 per month for 24 months amounts to $119.76 in total, which is a pretty sweet deal for what the smartphone brings to the table.
Moto Z Droid Specs
As a reminder, the impressively thin Verizon Moto Z Droid features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a QHD resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels, with Gorilla Glass protection for extra scratch resistance.
Under the hood, the Moto Z Droid houses a Snapdragon 820 processor that delivers plenty of horsepower, paired with an Adreno 530 graphics processing unit (GPU) and a solid 4 GB of RAM.
The smartphone features 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage expandable via microSD, but Best Buy's offer is for the 32 GB variant. Other specs include a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS), a 5-megapixel selfie cam, a fingerprint scanner below the display, and a 2,600 mAh battery. The Moto Z Droid also comes with Turbo Charging, which offers up to eight hours of battery live with a 15-minute rapid charge.
Moto Mods And Nougat, But No Headphone Jack
The high-end Moto Z Droid also supports Motorola's modular accessories called Moto Mods, allowing users to customize their smartphone by magnetically attaching modular extensions such as a better speaker, an extra battery or other. More Modo Mods are expected in 2017, including a 5G Moto Mod for blazing-fast connectivity.
The smartphone ships with Android Marshmallow on board, but an upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat already went live last month.
On the downside, the Moto Z Droid lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack, just like Apple's iPhone 7, so you might invest in some wireless headphones. The Moto Z Droid also features a nano-coating that protects it against occasional spills and light rain, but the handset is not waterproof.
Best Buy is offering the 32 GB Verizon Moto Z Droid in two color options: Black/Lunar Grey or White/Fine Gold.
