'Killer Instinct' For Xbox One And Windows 10 Getting New Fighter: Kilgore

Come January 2017, Killer Instinct for the Xbox One and Windows 10 PC will get a new fighter and other cool additions designed to improve the game and player experience. Microsoft and developer, Iron Galaxy, made the announcement on Tuesday, and fans are bound to be excited.

The new character is a robot who will draw a lot of comparisons to Fulgore, a veteran character of the game. This new robot is called Kilgore, and like Fulgore, it was made by the same corporation, UltraTech. Now, not much is known about Kilgore apart from the mini guns on the arms.

From what we have seen of several videos on YouTube, Kilgore's fighting style is quite different from Fulgore. In fact, he comes off as an unstable version of the veteran robot, which makes us believe Kilgore could be the first version of UltraTech's fighting robots until the design was perfected with Fulgore.

Players are expected to get a sneak peak of the character later this week. According to the developers, players will have the chance to fight against Kilgore, but no word on whether or not they will be able to play as Kilgore, if even for a few days.

New Thunder Costume

As part of Killer Instinct's version 3.6 update, all players will be gifted a new costume for Thunder. The costume was created with the help from the Nez Perce tribe in an attempt to bring "authentic warrior outfit" to the character. As shown from the video below, the costume doesn't look too bad, but hey, we've seen better.

For those who weren't aware, Thunder, in the original game, was a traditional Native American Nez Perce warrior. We're happy Iron Galaxy and Microsoft have decided to bring some form of authenticity to the character.

Changes To Several Key Characters

If you're a fan of Jago, Glacius, Orchid, Spinal, Fulgore, TJ Combo, Kan Ra, Omen, Cinder, Aria, Arbiter, General Raam, and Eyedol, then you might or might not be happy with the changes. Almost all the characters listed here have reductions in some ways, so time will tell how players feel.

If you're a fan of the Arbiter, be prepared for 66 percent damage reduction in his level one ender. His level 2 ender damage has also been reduced, this time by 40 percent. Quite steep, so hopefully the changes increase competition instead of stifling it.

No Changes Were Made To The Following Characters:

• Sabrewulf
• Thunder
• Sadira
• Maya
• Riptor
• Aganos
• Hisako
• Shadow Jago
• Kim Wu
• Tusk
• Rash
• Gargos

We'd prefer if Riptor had some reduction because that little lady dinosaur is a touch cookie. Checkout the full patch notes in the official page.
