Kim Kardashian on hoarding Blackberrys, Snapchat, and getting paid to tweet

When you think of Kim Kardashian West, many things immediately come to mind. However, her status as a leader in the tech industry usually isn't one of them.

But she changed all of our minds when she spoke with Re/code's Kara Swisher at the Code/Mobile conference in Half Moon Bay, Calif. on Oct. 27. The conversation began with Kardashian West and Swisher discussing her most well-known role as a reality star on her hit E! show Keeping Up With the Kardashians and its many incarnations. Their talk quickly turned to techier topics, however, such as how Kardashian West has leveraged social media for her career, her undying love for BlackBerry and her uber-successful mobile game.

All in all, Kardashian West had a lot to say about tech, and believe it or not, we have a lot to learn from her. Take a look at the seven best nuggets we gleaned from Kardashian West's talk.

1. She still uses a BlackBerry

Though Apple and Android devices are the smartphones du jour, Kardashian West still loves her BlackBerry. "It's my heart and soul, I love it and I'll never get rid of it," Kardashian West told Swisher. Though Kardashian West has an iPhone to take photos, she said she likes having the keyboard to type emails quickly. She loves the phone so much she buys them on eBay since they're not readily available in stores. And in case you were wondering, her BlackBerry of choice is the Bold.

2. She does all of her own social media

You always wonder how hands-on celebrities are with their social media accounts. Kardashian West is particularly well known for her social media presence, and though she is one busy lady, she says she does it all herself. Re/code reported that Kardashian West was also "genuinely flabbergasted" that other celebrities have people do it for them.

3. She doesn't like Snapchat

Snapchat may be what all the kids are into these days, but Kardashian West isn't so much of a fan. "Sometimes there's too much out there, my little sisters use it, but i just don't have the time," Kardashian West told Swisher.

4. She thinks TV and social media are equally important to her these days

Kardashian West may have shot to fame thanks to TV, but social media has had just as much influence on her career. She told Swisher that her reality shows are like 10 years' worth of "well-shot, well-lit home movies" for her family, but for her, social media has "allowed my career to sustain, and I've adapted to the chance of it all."

5. Her favorite mobile app is Instagram

"I'm loving Instagram. I think you can be really creative, and a little more intimate," Kardashian West told Swisher. "It has more texture than just words, obviously." This isn't really surprising, considering she's going to release a book full of her selfies next year. However, what was interesting was the revelation of her "three-image rule" on Instagram where she doesn't do more than three images in the same setting because "it oversaturates my feed."

6. She doesn't get paid a bunch of money to tweet

A while back, there was a rumor that Kardashian West earned $10,000 per tweet. She denied this rumor saying, "I would have been tweeting every two seconds if it was true," she said.

7. Updates are coming to the Kim Kardashian: Hollywood game

Kardashian West announced that she's working with mobile game developer Glu Mobile on introducing more characters to the game as well as "a FaceTime-like feature that allows players to 'chat' with Kim." Dreams really do come true.
